Working, waiting for you or finished? One glance is enough.
Light states
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Green · steady | A session is working, with no idle or waiting sessions. |
| Red · steady | Waiting for a reply or permission. |
| Blue · breathing | Open sessions are idle, with no active work or pending input. |
| Yellow · steady | Working and idle/ready-for-a-new-task sessions coexist. |
| Off | No included open sessions, the app is closed or the idle shutoff timer expired. |
Working and finished tasks together
Working and idle sessions together produce steady yellow. When only idle sessions remain, the light breathes blue. Excluded sessions do not participate in this calculation.
Your attention comes first
A session waiting for a reply or approval takes priority over other states. The light turns red even if other tasks are running.
If the assistant does not send a separate permission result, red may remain after approval until the related tool finishes.
The Copilot beta adapter does not track permission or question waits. The Antigravity beta adapter tracks ask_question only; the light may stay green during general permission or approval prompts. Codex automatic permission review uses the same effective-state filter for the light and the app.
